Former Nyeri Member of Parliament Ngunjiri Wambugu has described former Prime Minister Raila Odinga as a legend whom everyone wants to associate themselves with.
Speaking in an interview with Citizen TV Kenya, Wambugu noted that leaders should be mindful of their words to avoid trouble.
He added that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party felt betrayed when Kalonzo Musyoka, leader of the Wiper party, joined the late President Mwai Kibaki.
"Everyone wants to associate themselves with Raila after his prominence because he is a legend," Wambugu said. "Leaders should be mindful of their words to avoid landing in trouble." He reiterated that ODM has always believed Kalonzo betrayed the party by joining Kibaki.
Wambugu also revealed that he was serious when he said he would leave Jubilee if former President Uhuru Kenyatta worked with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
According to Wambugu, Gachagua is not someone to work with in politics because he is easily corrupted by power and doesn't know how to handle himself. Wambugu emphasized the importance of choosing the right allies in politics.
