As per the publication, months before Raila Odinga passed away, the Prime Cabinet Secretary CS position was a hot subject of discussion between William Ruto and the late ODM leader, and the debate started shortly after the broad-based government idea was agreed on.
As per the source, President William Ruto had contemplated on giving the influential position to the Late Raila Odinga, only for the idea to fail to sail through after the untimely death of Raila Odinga.
In regards to the matter, the source further highlighted that Musalia Mudavadi who currently holds the prestigious position is seeking to ensure victory in Malava constituency, as that would soften William Ruto's stance on his (Musalia Mudavadi) perspective about influence in the Western region voting bloc.
"Musalia Mudavadi is fighting for his position (as the Prime Cabinet Secretary) more than Kithure Kindiki because there was a proposal that Raila Odinga would take Mudavadi's position before the former Prime Minister died." The source indicated.
Aside from that, the source also highlighted that Deputy President Hon Kithure Kindiki's post is also at high stake, following mounting pressure from the Orange Democratic Movement ODM (party) which is also eyeing the country's second top influential political seat in 2027.
