Homa Bay Senator Moses Kajwang has weighed in on President William Ruto’s past remarks about corruption in Parliament, saying the President must also take responsibility as the head of government.

Kajwang noted that corruption is not confined to the legislature but exists across all institutions in the country, including those under the executive branch.

He emphasized that the fight against graft requires leadership by example, arguing that Ruto’s administration cannot effectively combat corruption while ignoring its presence within government agencies.

Kajwang added that accountability should begin at the top, with transparency and firm action against officials implicated in misuse of public funds.

The senator’s comments come amid growing public debate over corruption allegations in both national and county governments.

His remarks reflect increasing pressure on the Kenya Kwanza administration to demonstrate concrete results in tackling the vice.

Kajwang urged a comprehensive, non-partisan approach to addressing corruption, warning that selective condemnation only undermines public trust and the rule of law.
