Jubilee Party deputy leader Dr. Fred Matiang’i has issued a strong warning to the government, urging it not to interfere with the November 27 by-election.
Speaking in Nyamira County, Matiang’i claimed that there are plans to manipulate the elections in favor of UDA candidates, a move he described as unacceptable.
Matiang’i said opposition candidates are ready to win all the seats as a clear message of no confidence in the Kenya Kwanza administration. “Tunataka kuwaambia wasijaribu hiyo mchezo.
Sisi tumejipanga na tutalinda kura zetu wiki ijayo,” he said, emphasizing that Jubilee supporters are prepared to protect their votes.
The deputy party leader framed the upcoming by-elections as more than just a regular vote.
According to him, they will serve as a protest against a government that, he believes, has failed to deliver for Kenyans.
“Wakenya wamechoka na hii serikali kwa sababu it is not working for Kenyans,” Matiang’i said, pointing to growing public dissatisfaction with the current administration.
He criticized the Kenya Kwanza government for allegedly attempting to tilt the playing field in favor of its candidates.
Matiang’i argued that any attempt to influence the election process will be met with strong resistance from Jubilee supporters, who he says are determined to ensure a fair and transparent vote.
The Nyamira visit was part of Matiang’i’s effort to rally the Jubilee base ahead of the polls, reminding citizens of their right to choose leaders freely.
He called on Kenyans to turn out in large numbers and vote for opposition candidates as a way to hold the current government accountable.
