A kind-hearted Kenyan woman has donated a full sack of underwear to girls at Kenana Primary School in Njoro, Nakuru County.
This comes days after a disturbing story went viral about two sisters who feared returning to school after a teacher allegedly embarrassed them for not wearing underwear.
The two girls, both pupils at Kenana Primary, reportedly stayed home for almost a week after the incident.
Their parents said the children were too ashamed and afraid to face their classmates following the teacher’s remarks.
The case sparked outrage across the country, with many Kenyans calling for respect, dignity, and better support for young girls in schools.
Touched by the story, the woman, identified by locals as a well-wisher, visited the school carrying a large sack filled with panties.
She said her goal was to ensure no other girl at Kenana Primary suffers humiliation simply because they lack such basic items.
Videos of her arrival, shared online by content creator Beatrice Kihuthia, quickly spread on TikTok and other platforms, with many Kenyans praising her action.
“I felt the pain of those sisters. Underwear is a basic need, not a luxury.
No child should be mocked for not having one,” she explained during the visit.
Teachers, parents, and learners at the school welcomed her donation warmly.
The story has also drawn the attention of government officials.
The Ministry of Education has since launched an investigation into the matter to establish what exactly happened and to take action against anyone found guilty of misconduct.
Nakuru County authorities have further promised to provide counseling and psychological support to the two sisters so they can regain confidence and return to their studies without fear.
The incident has opened a wider conversation about poverty and the challenges facing many schoolgirls in rural Kenya.
Some parents struggle to provide basics such as uniforms, shoes, sanitary pads, and underwear.
Leaders and activists are urging the government and communities to support girls so that they can learn in dignity.
While the case shocked many, it also showed the power of compassion.
