The decision by KANU party leader Gideon Moi to pull out of the Baringo Senatorial race has allegedly split the party and left insiders confused.

This is after the bigwig allegedly duped his handlers into mobilizing his supporters to gather at the IEBC clearance centre in preparation for his arrival to hand in documents only to later switch off his phone and become unreachable.

Allegedly, Moi had informed those in his circles that he had rejected a plan to have quit the race.

The handlers who spoke to Nation Africa on condition of anonymity alleged that the KANU boss instructed them to mobilize supporters and wait for him at the IEBC clearance centre in preparation for his arrival.

The said handlers allegedly proceeded with the plan. They mobilized supporters of the cockerel party arming with red tshirts imprinted with the party's symbols.

Until late, the supporters had camped outside the clearance centre waiting for him. At some point, they proceeded to a nearby airstrip in anticipation that his chopper would land there.

However, when his set time for document submission was about to elapse, Gideon Moi could allegedly not be reached. Attempts by his handlers to reach him were futile as the his phone has been switched off.

When it became evident that Moi junior was not going to submit papers, the mobilized supporters became furious and proceeded to Kabarnet town where they held a demo opposing the withdrawal.

His withdrawal has left many with questions on whether he has joined hands with the ruling coalition.
