He also said that if the SHA starts paying for leaders like Raila, then soon all politicians will want free treatment, and poor people will suffer. Miguna said that this is not fair, because normal Kenyans also get sick and need help, but no one pays for them.
Miguna asked why Njiru thinks Raila is more important than the common people. He said that all Kenyans are equal, and no one should get special treatment just because they are famous or powerful.
He also said that Njiru is trying to make people think Raila is like a king, who should be taken care of by the government.
Miguna said this is dangerous, because it brings back the old thinking where leaders get everything for free and the people get nothing.
Miguna finished by saying, “If the SHA pays for Raila today, who will they pay for tomorrow? Every leader will want the same, and the country will lose money meant for the people.”
This small fight between Miguna and Njiru shows a big problem in Kenya. Many people are tired of politicians getting special help while normal citizens suffer.
The question now is: should health care help only the poor, or also the rich leaders?.
