Gachagua is currently one of the few politicians that are yet to visit Raila Odinga's in Bondo, Siaya County.
When asked why he has not yet had the courtesy to go visit the place, Gachagua stated that he has not yet due to safety reasons.
He alleged that he feared being abducted and tortured by the current regime of President William Ruto.
Again, he has also stated that he and the late Raila Odinga were never close at all because they had different political ideologies.
"We were never friends with Raila Odinga, and we never listened to each other, but it was nothing personal. It was all politics," he stated.
Some Kenyans quickly reacted to Gachagua's remarks, and below are some of the top reactions.
One Facebook user thanked Gachagua for being truthful under all circumstances and commented, "Gachagua doesn't tell lies about the dead, and that should be emulated."
Another user, however, criticised him for making such a statement, saying, "You are the one who will make Luos vote for Ruto, but it was not our wish because of your bad mouth."
Another added, "This idiot doesn't know how to separate personal from politics; kila kitu kwake ni personal. That is why he is always full of bile."
