A Ugandan domestic worker, Namatovu Halima, has died in Saudi Arabia after a tragic fall from the fourth floor of a building in Riyadh.

The 29-year-old, fondly known as Maama Kiyumba, had been living in the Gulf nation for five years before her untimely death.

Reports indicate that Halima, whose visa had expired, was being detained for deportation.

In a desperate attempt to escape, she reportedly tried to flee but slipped and fell, sustaining severe head injuries.

She was rushed to the hospital and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit, where she fought for her life for several days before passing away.

Family members said Halima spent her years in Saudi Arabia working tirelessly to support her loved ones.

Through her earnings, she managed to build several houses back home, earning respect within her community.

Her colleagues and friends mourned her as a selfless woman who cared for many.

Her final moments were marked by heartbreaking words to her only son.

With fear of deportation weighing heavily on her, she pleaded with him to pray for her success in escaping the ordeal.

One of her colleagues explained that Halima was remembered as a kind and hardworking woman, adding that it was heartbreaking that despite all she achieved, her life had ended in such a painful way.

Relatives now face the difficult task of raising funds to bring her body back home for burial.

Many in her village remember Halima not only as a mother and daughter but also as a pillar of hope who had big dreams for her family’s future.
