Local daily has established that former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua is facing a battle that might either ruin his political career or build him ahead of 2027 Presidential elections.
The publication noted that the former Mathira Member of Parliament is facing enormous pressure especially from the Kenya Kwanza government and former President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee party, which is an opposition party..
It is reported that Rigathi Gachagua has found himself in a tight spot facing President Ruto, Deputy President Professor Kithure Kindiki, National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah, some cabinet ministers, and close allies of the Kenya Kwanza administration.
As the country prepares for a possible defining moment to remove the Kenya Kwanza administration from power in the August 2027 general election, the former Deputy President has faced hostility, even allies of former president Uhuru Kenyatta have joined in the mixed.
“One person is being pursued by more than ten groups. The same person they ousted from office last October has refused to sink as they had hoped, and now they’re desperately trying to break me politically,” he said.
In his defense, the former personal Assistant of Uhuru Kenyatta, noted that the government and Jubilee are coordinating a well organized strategy in Mt Kenya region to fight him head.
And according to political analysts and observers, this move seems like a desperate attempt by Kenya Kwanza leaders to bring it back into Ruto’s camp, a region that voted for Kenya Kwanza at 87% in the 2022 presidential elections.
In addition, the pundits believes that the vote-rich region has been converted into a political battleground against former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
